The Member Profiles shown here are an illustration of how our SICAMM Members work to conserve, protect and appreciate the dark European honey bee, Apis mellifera mellifera.
SICAMM is an evolving International Federation of Associations managed by an elected Main Board and is interested in supporting initiatives, based on experienced practice and interdisciplinary scientific research. SICAMM prioritizes the welfare of localised, wild and free living bees, that are under threat. It also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of Conservation Areas for European Dark Bee populations.

Mellifica BE works for the conservation and redevelopment of the black bee in Wallonia. The headquarters are located at the Maison de l’Abeille Noire located within the Aquascope Virelles nature interpretation centre (Chimay). This region is a protected area of 300 km² for the Chimay/Valenciennes population of the black bee, established by the municipalities of Chimay and Momignies.

SICAMM Associations Reports
Each year, SICAMM member associations carry out a wide range of practical, scientific and educational work to conserve and promote the European dark honey bee, Apis mellifera mellifera. The 2025 reports provide a snapshot of this shared effort, showing the major activities, achievements and challenges from member organisations across the SICAMM network.
