Introducing the SICAMM International Reading List

SICAMM is pleased to introduce a new International Reading List, bringing together high-quality books, articles, research papers and other resources relevant to the conservation, science and sustainable management of the European dark honey bee.

The list will feature material recommended by SICAMM members and contributors from across our international network. Its purpose is to make useful, credible and thought-provoking reading easier to discover and to encourage the sharing of knowledge between researchers, conservation groups, beekeepers and others working with native honey bee populations.

Recommendations may cover subjects including:

• Apis mellifera mellifera and other native honey bee populations

• genetics, local adaptation and biodiversity

• conservation and sustainable beekeeping

• honey bee ecology, behaviour and health

• habitat, forage and interactions with other pollinators

• relevant historical and cultural material

  
  

We welcome suggestions from members and partner organisations. All submissions will be reviewed before inclusion to ensure that the Reading List remains relevant, reliable and of a consistently high standard.
