SICAMM & NIHBS Conference 2027 – Better Together

20–23 May 2027 · University of Galway, Ireland

We’re delighted to share the news of the 2027 joint conference between SICAMM and the Native Irish Honey Bee Society (NIHBS).

Taking place at the University of Galway from 20–23 May 2027, the conference will bring together beekeepers, scientists and conservationists with a shared interest in the conservation of the European dark bee, Apis mellifera mellifera.

Better Together — Níos fearr le chéile

The conference will focus on the sustainable conservation of native honey bees within their respective natural ranges.

Ireland is home to one of Europe’s most genetically intact populations of Apis mellifera mellifera, and the aim is for the science, discussion and cooperation shared in Galway to inspire and strengthen conservation work across Europe.
